Following the death of Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill (1874 -1965), a commemorative crown (token) was issued in his honour and memory. The Canadian one dollar bill was last printed in 1989, and the dollar coin ("Loonie") has only been produced. On the newest Canadian one dollar bills, however, a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and theCanadian Coat of Arms are present.

1973 represented the 100th Anniversary of the Prince Edward Island Province of Canada. To commemorate the occasion, a circulating commemorative with a nickel composition was authorized for minting.

Obverse: The bust of Queen Elizabeth the II facing right, designed byArnold Machin.   ELIZABETH II D. G. REGINA which is the abbreviationfor the latin term Dai Gratia Regina or By the Grace of God, Queen.Surrounding the overall design is a circle of beads.

Reverse: Prominently features the Provincial Legislative Building anddual date of 1873 & 1973 on either side, designed by Terry Manning.The designer's initials “TM” are located at the left of the buildingwhile to the right of the building are engraver Walter Ott's initials"WO". On the upper outer periphery is the word “CANADA” and denomination “DOLLAR”. Below the design (in both English and French) are the words “PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND”.

The 1982 Canadian Constitution Dollar depicts the Fathers ofConfederation, meeting in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island in 1867to ratify the British North America Act, creating the Dominion ofCanada. It was painted by Robert Harris in 1883.

The 1986 $2 bill is dark terra cotta in colour with pastel colours ina rainbow pattern. It displays Queen Elizabeth II, the north side ofthe Centre Block of the Parliament Buildings, the library in Ottawaand the Canadian Maple Leaf flag above the Peace Tower on the faceside, and two American Robins on the back.

In 1967, the Bank of Canada issued special $1 notes to commemorate thecentennial of Confederation. The face of the note resembles that ofthe 1954 $1 issue, except for the maple leaf centennial symbol at theleft and references to the centennial along the top and bottom. Theback vignette portrays the original Centre Block of the Parliamentbuildings, which was destroyed by fire in 1916. The same vignette wasused on the face of the 1872 $100 Dominion of Canada note.

Everything here was written by Cuddy, who is arriving on the recording scene fully formed.  Each number is a little gem, a cool story, whether tongue-in-cheek (My Son's A Queer), or passionate retro.  There's not a nod to anything post-1959, aside from some lyrics, with the few instruments the same ones those old jazzers or Sun Studio guys were using.  The piano leads it all, and it sounds like an old upright workhorse, something rolled onto the stage in the high school gymnasium when the dance band arrived.  Engineer Tim Vesely (Rheostatics) adds no effects, no ambiance or layers, adding to the antique flair.  Zach Sutton's drums go boom, Nichol Robertson's guitar solos sound like a 50's guitar, Devon Richardson's bass is felt more than heard.  It was recorded live, no overdubs, and you can tell, in the very best ways.  Even Cuddy's voice is out of time, and certainly sounds way older than 25.  But he's been in love with Armstrong-era jazz since his teens, has studied both classical and jazz, and has been workshopping this sound at weekly gigs in Toronto for three years.  And he's absolutely developed a style and blend like no other.

You will also need to be on good terms with the two local railway companies. Without their support you will not be able to link to their networks, nor will you be able to negotiate the sale of your lines when they become unprofitable (as they surely will).

Sequence is a board and card game. The board shows all the cards (except for the Jacks) of two (2) standard 52-card decks, laid in a 10 x 10 pattern. The four corners are free spaces and count for all players equally.

The players compete to create rows, columns or diagonals of 5 connected checkers placed on the cards that the player has laid down. Two-eyed Jacks are wild, while one-eyed Jacks allow an opponent's checker to be removed. The game ends when someone has reached a specified number of connections.
